Dr. Robert Bourgault
Physician and Medical Director, TELUS Health Care Centres
Dr. Bourgault’s practice includes performing executive preventative health assessments and conducting a wide range of occupational health examinations including pre-employment and pre-placement examinations, medical surveillance examinations and fitness for work evaluations. He also acts as Medical Director for the TELUS Health Care Centres’ Ottawa clinic and provides medical directives and support for travel health consultations.
Dr. Bourgault completed his medical degree at the University of Ottawa in 1987 and his master’s degree in occupational health at McGill University in 2011. He also holds undergraduate degrees in both biology and mechanical engineering from the University of Ottawa and received his certificate in travel health from the International Society of Travel Medicine.
Dr. Bourgault is an avid runner and has completed numerous road races including the 2006 Boston Marathon and, most recently, the 2016 Canada Army Run half-marathon. He also enjoys a number of other physical activities including skiing, swimming and cycling. He has a very active lifestyle and is a strong believer in preventative medicine.
Samantha Rojas
Certified Genetic Counsellor, TELUS Health Care Centres
Sam is a board-certified genetic counsellor who obtained her Masters of Science in Genetic Counselling from McGill University in 2021. She specializes in inherited cardiovascular disorders, and serves as an affiliate faculty member with the McGill University Department of Human Genetics’ genetic counselling program. Other areas of interest include neurogenetics, variant interpretation, patient advocacy, and ethico-legal implications surrounding genetic testing.
Sam is a certified yoga teacher with a primary interest in Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles, which promote both physical and mental mindfulness. She also enjoys spin classes, reading and painting.
